It is been a while since I am tallking about this topic last time. I was having conversation in burjo a.k.a green been stalls with my pals. My hobbies are a lot. There are reading, cycling, and backpacking. Especially the last time, I’ve been backpacking with my mother to her land of birth, also the place for my father rest for the rest of his life (graveyard).
Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols in order to construct or derive meaning (reading comprehension). It is a means of language acquisition, of communication, and of sharing information and ideas. Like all language, it is a complex interaction between the text and the reader which is shaped by the reader’s prior knowledge, experiences, attitude, and language community which is culturally and socially situated. The reading process requires continuous practice, development, and refinement. In addition, reading requires creativity and critical analysis. Consumers of literature make ventures with each piece, innately deviating from literal words to create images that make sense to them in the unfamiliar places the texts describe. Because reading is such a complex process, it cannot be controlled or restricted to one or two interpretations. There are no concrete laws in reading, but rather allows readers an escape to produce their own products introspectively.
I have been reading a lot. My parents who taught me how to become a reader, she teach me with animation book. They bought many books that have animal history in it. They also bought me comic book, and the funny part is. Even thought my father aware enough, his son someday will become a gentleman. He bought me comic for the first time is candy-candy. I don’t know why but It seems I enjoy read that comic book that day. But for now, I will not touch that comic ever again. My parents also gave some rewards to their children. When Me and My brother, get a good grades in a school. They will treat us some books to buy. I love read science animal research books, nature books, discovery channel-alike books, travelling books, mystery books, detective books, football books, etc.
Cycling, also called bicycling or biking, is the use of bicycles for transport, recreation, or for sport. Persons engaged in cycling are referred to as “cyclists”, “bikers”, or less commonly, as “bicyclists”. Apart from two-wheeled bicycles, “cycling” also includes the riding of unicycles, tricycles, quadracycles, and similarhuman-powered vehicles (HPVs).
Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century and now number about one billion worldwide. They are the principal means of transportation in many parts of the world.
Cycling is widely regarded as a very effective and efficient mode of transportation optimal for short to moderate distances. Bicycles provide numerous benefits by comparison with motor vehicles, including the sustained physical exercise necessarily involved in cycling, that cycling involves a reduced consumption of fossil fuels, less air or noise pollution, much reduced traffic congestion, easier parking, greater maneuverability, and access to both roads and paths. The advantages also include reduced financial cost to the user as well as to society at large (negligible damage to roads, less road area required).By fitting bicycle racks on the front of busses, transit agencies can significantly increase the areas they can serve.
Among the disadvantages of cycling are the inherent instability of the bicycle, the immensely reduced protection in crashes (especially in collisions with motor vehicles), longer travel time (except in densely populated areas), vulnerability to weather conditions, difficulty in transporting passengers, and the fact that a basic level of fitness is required for cycling moderate to long distances.
I used to cycling a lot. When I was young, my father gave me a bike. He told me that when he was a kid, he also like to ride a bike. He rode his bike with his cousin to the Parangtritis Beach in Yogyakarta. It was 65 km long. When they went to the beach they see new people, new stuffs, so refreshing. Even thought my father and his cousin just cycling for the first half, because their bike was broke, they still happy. I love to cycling because it’s so refreshing. With the climate in my country sometimes make it so hot. So I decided cycling to village and riverside with a lot of paddy fields beside it. The air is so fresh so I can feel it. I also love commuting to my school. I started in 7th grade until 9th grade. In University for the first and second semester, I become bike to campus freak. I start to build my bike in bicycle stalls. They gave me a lot recommendation. I choose mountain bike because I know, the street to my campus is not good enough. I also bought some stuffs to support my pretentious-go green activity like helmet, lamp, ankle support, etc. Even thought just two semesters I constantly commuting with my bike. I feel the benefit of it. Not just for the environment, less carbon footprint I left. But also for my own body, I feel in good health, never had any fever or cough. One day I will do some pretentious-go green activity like this again, when I had a proper daily job in the good city, whether in my country or not, as long as I can fulfill my passion. It doesn’t matter.
Backpacking is a form of low-cost, independent international/local travel. It includes the use of a backpack that is easily carried for long distances or long periods of time; the use of public transport; inexpensive lodging such as youth hostels; often a longer duration of the trip when compared with conventional vacations; and often an interest in meeting locals as well as seeing sights.
Backpacking may include wilderness adventures, local travel and travel to nearby counties while working from the country in which they are based.
The definition of a backpacker has evolved as travellers from different cultures and regions participate. A 2007 paper said “backpackers constituted a heterogeneous group with respect to the diversity of rationales and meanings attached to their travel experiences. They also displayed a common commitment to a non-institutionalised form of travel, which was central to their self-identification as backpackers.” Backpacking as a lifestyle and as a business has grown considerably in the 2000s as a result of low-cost airlines and hostels or budget accommodations in many parts of the world.
I love to backpacking because there are a lot of new things to see, a lot of new people to greets, it’s always refreshing. The important & essential part is, low cost! Yes because like the definition above, low cost backpacking. With low cost budget, you can go as long you want. Visit many places without worrying lack of fund. So you must manage your money well with staying in low-fare hotels, boarding with low-cost airplane, walking as long as you can, enjoying with the scenery you see each step you put on the new places. I have been to Thailand, Malaysia, and some city in my country, Indonesia.
